a dash plaque.
Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for 'Best of' and 2nd Places.
Trophies for 3rd places.
We are looking for input from our car show
participants, Eureka residents and visitors about suggestions to
make our next car shows even better. Here is a
question that we'd like answered:
Do any Eureka residents have extra rooms that they
would like to share or rent for future events?
Please email
carshow@eurekanv.org or call 775-237-5484 with
answers or suggestions.
2011
Thank you for coming to the
2011 'Show What Ya Brung' Car Show and 'Run What Ya Brung' Drag Races.
Hope you had a great time, too!
Eureka residents
and visitors again enjoyed a very successful Eureka Car Show on Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14.

Activities began with
our new event, 1/8th mile drag races on Friday from 1 pm-5pm at
the Eureka Airport for all cars and motorcycles. There were no time
clocks, no time slips - just a fun day of grudge racing. We had a
great turnout of spectators and vehicles.
We want to give special thanks to
John
and Vincie Walzl for their help at the Eureka Airport facilitating
the drag races.

The Main Street
“Cruise-in” was Friday evening. DJ Bill Micheli provided music
and entertainment Friday and Saturday.
Saturday morning, the Eureka
Lion’s Club started the festivities
with an excellent pancake breakfast
at the Eureka Fire House.
The car show and the concurrent
Highway 50 yard sale
displayed along both sides of the main street of historic downtown
Eureka. The free mini-train and bounce castle for kids were a big
hit. Mother Nature gave us a nice window of two good-weather days.

Ninety-eight
vehicles competed in the show, representing most towns in Nevada.
Longest Distance Driven was by Rich & Hillary Chalke, North Vancouver,
BC, with their 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible about 760 miles as the crow
flies.
Best in Show went to Jerry Lange, Reno, with his 1966 Chevy Chevelle. Cash prizes &
awards were given at an award dinner Saturday evening. See
results below.

Sponsors for 2011
included the Eureka County Recreation Board, Barrick Ruby Hill, Mt.
